Here published with Lightning on the Wave's kind permission.
I love her epic very much, I love practically all of her characters and always had strong reactions to her OCs who were all excellent and three-dimensional, but I overflow with the Draco love and so here he is. A Long drabble about a very canon side of Draco's character.
I am NOT the creator of Draco Malfoy or Harry Potter, nor have I ever written the Sacrifice Arc.
"What are you doing?" Harry asks. Draco is buried in odd-looking books.
"Research," he answers. "It's quite fascinating, actually. Did you know we could be a species if we stopped intermarrying with Muggles?"
"What? Is that Ragnara's latest theory?"
"No. It's Muggle science. These," Draco adds smugly, "are Muggle science books. They even have a sort of theory of what magic is, though of course they can't prove it."
Harry is flabbergasted. "Muggle?" he yelps.
"Muggle," Draco confirms. "Having no magic they have to use their brains, I suppose. Anyway, this evolutionism thing is dead useful. It explains how we came to be. And their Quantum Phase Space theory explains magic perfectly well," he grins. "Both utterly demolish Ragnara's Great Unified Theory of Magic. I like them."
"I thought you had accepted Ragnara's G.U.T.," Harry says, fighting to keep the smile off his face and voice.
"HA!" Draco scoffs and bends his head down to the page once more.
Harry looks at his lover in something like awe. He knows Draco circles problems and things he doesn't want to be true like a shark until he thinks he sees an opening that will prove him right. He knows, and rejoices in the fact, that Draco never gives up and never lets go: he's benefited a lot from that. But now, as if for the first time, he understands that Draco is truly indomitable. And smiles and smiles.
